The Gyeongbuk Sea Grant Center (Head of Center: Professor Son-Cheol Yu of CiTE) held a program from October to November to educate teenagers in the area of Gyeongbuk about ocean safety by visiting their schools. The center hopes to raise awareness of ocean safety, as well as give knowledge on how to act in emergency situations. Through this program, students are taught how to ride an emergency lifeboat, use a life rope, wear a life jacket, etc.
The Gyeonbuk Sea Grant Center, which was established at POSTECH in 2009, has been sponsored by The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Gyeongbuk Province to discover and solve the regional pending problems in the field of fisheries.
