Professor Chung Min Keun, the Director of the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), and his disciples donated one hundred million KRW for the development of POSTECH. Prof. Chung came to POSTECH as a professor in the Department of IME in 1987, and until 2013 he contributed to POSTECH’s development from a new established university to a world-class university. Prof. Chung has also published over one hundred theses, and he is considered the authority in human engineering. Prof. Chung attained enormous achievement in education and research, but he left POSTECH because he was selected as the director of the NRF; his term began in Jan. 2014. Prof. Chung became an emeritus professor recognized for his achievement. With his retirement, he made some donations. After hearing the news that Prof. Chung’s actions, about fifty students also followed and participated in making donations. POSTECH will use the fund for the development of IME .
A ceremony in honor of Prof. Chung was held in the POSCO International Center on May 18.
