Leading Universities’ Love Call to POSTECH Alumni

POSTECH IEE alumni’s assignments as a professor or a dean of world leading universities continue. It is evidence that alumni have been highly renowned throughout the world for their vigorous research.
Prof. Young-Jun Son (class of 1996 with B.S.) took office as the dean of the Dept. of Systems and Industrial Engineering of the University of Arizona. He continuously attracted the attention of the public as he started his new post as the youngest professor of the university at the age of 26, and was promoted to a full professor in only 10 years.
Prof. Choi, Sungchul (class of 2012 with Ph.D.) and Prof. Kim Namhyoung (class of 2013 with Ph.D.), graduates of integrated course, were assigned as professors to the Dept. of Industrial Engineering, and to the Dept. of Applied Statistics of Gachon University. Prof. Choi had experience working at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology as a post-doc. Prof. Kim became the first professor to be assigned without post-doc experience.
After serving as a chief researcher of Samsung Display, Prof. Soondo Hong (class of 1996 with M.S.) was invited to be a professor of the Dept. of Industrial Engineering of Pusan National University. Prof. Byungsoo Na (class of 2000 with B.S.) was appointed as a professor of the Division of Business Administration of Korea University (Sejong Campus) through Georgia Institute of Technology and Samsung Electronics.
