From Jan. 24, a total of 45 students (25- POSTECH, 10- Korea National University of Arts [K-Arts], 10- Adama Science and Technology University [ASTU] ) participated in the program “We Share the Future,” sponsored by Woori Bank. For three weeks, these students visited Ethiopia to perform community service. While Postechians focused on applying appropriate technology, K- Arts students provided education on performing arts, and ASTU students connected the locals and the volunteers by providing translation. This program began in the spring of 2013, and the group that went this year was the third group to go help those in Ethiopia. Students from ASTU joined the program since the second trip, and this was the first time students from K- Arts became part of the program. In response to this program, President Youngmin Kim said, “This program is a chance for Postechians to return the favor from the nation and society and is expected to be a great experience for Postechians to become authentic global scientists.”
