Max Planck POSTECH/Korea Research Initiative (MPK) concluded an agreement with Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Daejeon on Dec. 27. MPK is a research institute that focuses on fundamental technology of matter field, new growth power. KAERI is the only research institute in Korea related with nuclear power. It focuses on stability, applied fields, and new technology of nuclear power.
The two institutes promise to contribute to technology and industrial development. Professor Park, Jae-Hoon (Director of Max Planck Center for Complex Phase Materials) and Lee Kye-Hong (Research Reactor Engineering Division in KAERI) signed a written agreement of cooperation to research together, share research facilities, and interchange manpower. For the agreement, as the two institutes use their facilities effectively and identify phenomena and causes of spin interaction, they are expected to develop world-class fundamental technology. In addition, they combined research facilities and will open them to other researchers; it is expected to develop the field related to neutron beam and be applicable to various fields.
