Professor Kang Tae Kim (MATH) was appointed as the Executive Editor of “Com- plex Analysis and its Synergies”, which is published by Sprin- ger Verlag, the world’s famous academic publisher.
In the publishing of this journal, which is intended for the fusion research development of complex analysis, physics, and mathematics, 13 renowned authorities serve as executive editors, including Prof. Kim, Prof. R.C. Gunning from Princeton University, Y-T. Siu from Harvard University, and Prof. D.H. Phong from Columbia University.
An executive editor, the “face” of a journal, maintains the popularity of an academic journal and encourages mathematicians to submit their works. Also, these executive editors recommend an editing staff who will take charge of examining a theses and dealing with any problems they may contain.
Prof. Kim, who earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, moved to POSTECH in 1994 after a several year stay as a professor in Brown University. Prof. Kim is now also working as an editing member of the Journal of Geometric Analysis.
