Prof. Ildoo Hwang (LIFE) discovered how auxin, a type of hormone, makes cells become various organs. According to the research, signals from peptide1 activate BIN2 protein, an enzyme, and the protein controls the signal level of auxin. Depending on the signal level of auxin, plants can control the formation of various organs. Until now, bioscientists did not know how plants formed various organs through only auxin nor what the peptide’s role is. This research has value in terms of discovering a mechanism that identifies how a peptide controls the surrounding cells to make various organs, acting as type of remote control. Discovering the fact that small peptides in plants move through the sieve tube was also significant.
 Using the research, bioscientists can develop a plant that can grow in any environment. Furthermore, the remote control promotes lateral roots sharply. If the result is used to root crops, production will be increased regardless of the environment change. And if the research is applied to fruit, flowers, leaves and stem, it can make a highly valuable crop that develops particular organs.
