Re-voting for the new representatives of the 28th Undergraduate Association (UA) and the 26th Female Student Association was held on Nov. 21. Although there was a previous election on Nov. 7, re-voting for representatives of two associations was decided and scheduled because some claimed a voting regulation was violated.  The Central Election Management Commission did not notify early enough that the students of temporary absense can also participate in voting through a certain process of registration. Eventually, Jae Yeon Cho (CiTE 12), and Lee Jun Ho (ME 12) were elected as the new president and vice president for undergraduates respectively. In addition, Jin Yi Park (IME 12) and Ju Young Park (ME 12) were elected as the president and  vice president of Female Student Association respectively.
Of the total 1289 eligible voters, 726 students (56.3%) participated in the voting that day. The candidates of UA won 452 votes (265 against, 9 undervote), which is more than 1/3 of the total electorate, were elected. Also, 175 students of the total 231 female students (75.7%) voted, and 130 voters voted for the candidates (45 against, 0 undervote). Therefore, the candidate won the election.
According to the election pledge, the motto for the 28th Undergraduate Association is <Let’s Rock!> which means <Lively Encouraging Twenty-eighth Student Council ‘Rock’>. Jae Yeon Cho said, ?he most important part of our commitment is ‘fun’. POSTECH must be a place in which every member enjoys his/her life and has fun with everything they do. Also, POSTECH has firmly laid its foundation over the past 25 years and has become one of the best universities all over the world. Now is the time to start building up POSTECH’s own peculiarities. I am sure that the 28th Undergraduate Association will be the foundation stone.” Also, the motto for the Female Student Association is <Speak, Listen and Write>. ‘Speak’ means the significance of Female Student Association as a means of representing opinions from female students, and ‘Listen’ means that they always listen to what female Postechians want. Finally, ‘Write’ is their will to reflect those opinions on actual business they are planning for the upcoming year.
