New Name of National Nano Infrastructure, from NCNT to NINT

POSTECH announced that the National Center for Nanomaterials Technology (NCNT) changed its name to National Institute for Nanomaterials Technology (NINT) and stated that POSTECH expects a new renaissance of nano industry and strengthening of its role as a national nano infra institution.
NINT’s purpose is to contribute to the new age of nano technology by fusion with other areas of expertise. NCNT has completed its role as a center for the past 9 years. It started new under the name of ?INT?in Jan. 1, 2013.
NCNT was the title of the construction business supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy in 2004. As the contract with the construction business reached its end, change and innovation were suggested. This name change is not just an alteration of the formal name, but expresses the institute? will for radical reform.
NINT has continuously grown as a core of infra of nanomaterials and territory of materials since its foundation in 2004. It now employs 43 researchers and operates a clean room system. The value of the equipment it houses is 70 billion KRW. NINT takes the third place on the scale of investment from the government for development of nano technology. By this name change, NINT will solidify its position as one of the top three nano institutions in the nation. NINT is expected to expand its role as a core infra of nano field. It also hopes to enhance its functions inducing government projects and propelling the industrialization of nano technology.
