On Jul. 23, the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning held a conference to provide regulation guidelines for various foundations, especially for the five universities (POSTECH, KAIST, GIST, DGIST, and UNIST) that specialize in science and technology. This conference was a follow up of the conference held in May for the ?ive Star (Science and Technology After R&D) Initiative.?STAR stands for Sustainable, Technology-based, Assimilative, and Reformative. To accomplish these four missionary statements, the missions were further divided into eight. Out of the eight missions, this conference focused on mission number eight, which is to provide regulation guideliens. This conference specificially focused on encouraging the establishment of foundations and prevent faculty and students from giving up on establishing one. Furthermore, it hopes that professors and students freely go in and out of labs to establish businesses and also supports students to focus on the development of businesses. Through such means, it is expected that more professors and students will find STAR businesses in POSTECH.
