Professor Song Woo-Jin (EEE), Lee Han Sol (EEE Ph.D. candidate), and Lee Jae Woo (EEE Ph.D. candidate) along with Dr. Kim SeongEun (Samsung electronics) improved sensitivity of sensors used in sensor networks and signal processing.
Wireless sensor networks evaluate the physical environment of large areas using sensors and are applied to unmanned systems. This international core technology constructs a “ubiquitous” network.
Although the sensor must be fast and accurate, in technology, speed decreases as accuracy increases. They advised changing the step-size for the optimized value using mathematic analysis to overcome the limit. This improved the sensor’s sensitivity. Until now, improvements of sensors have been criticized for frequent errors and weak basis through the user? reaction
Prof. Song stated “As the accuracy of signal processing technology develops, it enhances the value that makes use of wireless sensor networks.”
They received the “Best Paper Award” of International Technical Conference on Circuit/Systems, Computers and Communications on Jun. 30.
