Professor Kyo Han Ahn (CHEM) was awarded an Academic Excellence Prize in the 111th research conference hosted by The Korean Chemical Society. The conference was held for 3 days from Apr. 17 to Apr. 19 in Ilsan KINTEX.
Prof. Ahn has researched (1) molecular recognition and sensing and (2) nano/bio-functional materials. In detail, his research on the molecular recognition and sensing is focused on the development of novel artificial receptors for the selective recognition of biogenic amines. Also, the focus of research on the nano/bio-functional molecules is the development of nanobiosensors for early diagnosis of disease. Recognized for the magnificent research results in the field of Organic Chemistry, he was chosen as the one who receives the Academic Excellence Prize this year.
This Academic Excellence Prize is annually granted to an individual who either publishes an outstanding research thesis or makes a remarkable contribution toward advancement of chemical technology. The next conference (2013 Autumn Meeting) will be held on Oct. 16, 2013 in Changwon CECO.
