A crackdown on unregistered motor vehicles and reckless drivers is underway. Several people have been caught at the crackdown, which began on Mar. 1 and will continue until Apr. 10.
Members of POSTECH are required to register their two-wheel motor vehicles at the University. Two-wheel motor vehicles with an engine capacity of less than 50 cc, including motorcycles and scooters, must be registered.
Those who ride unregistered motor vehicles or violate the safety rules will get penalty points. Unlicensed drivers (also passenger) get 20 points, driving under the influence 40, causing an accident 30, not wearing a helmet (also passenger) 20, three people or more riding together (also passenger) 10, unregistered motor vehicle 10, parking violation 10, and refusing to sign on the ticket 40.
Disciplinary measures for accumulated penalty points are as follows: a verbal warning for 20 points or less, a written warning by email for 21-40, eight hours of campus services for 41-60, and reporting to Student Disciplinary Committee for 61 points or more.
