The contest of appropriate technology is underway at POSTECH. ALPHA, an association that aims to develop the culture of POSTECH, is supervising and MEST (Ministry of Educational Science and Technology) is sponsoring this contest.
As a need of continuous aid and development for the Third World has been recognized, ALPHA perceived that Postechians, among the world’s most talented people, also need to pay attention to meaning and significance of appropriate technology. The subject of contest is to suggest appropriate technology that could improve the quality of life in Africa using local and inexpensive materials.
The presentation for the contest was held in Mueunjae Memorial Hall on Mar. 8. Participants must submit their technical proposal by Mar. 24. The panel of judges will estimate proposals on Mar. 31 and select the top six teams. After that, the presentation for the top six teams and the ceremony for winners will be held on Apr. 13.
