Professor Seung Hwan Kim of the Departemnt of Phy-sics was appointed as the 13th pre-sident of the Korea Brain Re-search Associa-tion in 2013. The Korea Brain Re-search Association was established in 1998 to promote and invigorate brain research in Korea. It was established by ten academies, including the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Science, the Korean Society for Computational Neuroscience, the Korean Society for Brain Engineering, and the Korean Society for Cognitive Science.
By cooperation among societies, the Korea Brain Association has popularized brain research through various initiatives, such as World Brain Awareness Week, and coordinated the establishment of the Korea Brain Research Institute.
Prof. Kim said, “welcoming the era of convergence and integration, I’m going to encourage joint researches of various studies  and open the Renaissance of brain research in 2013.”
