POSTECH promotes “World-leading University Initiative” to be a leading university in the world from 2013. Among other things, the initiative will convert top-down management, in which departments follow the universal development plans of POSTECH, to bottom-up management, in which departments suggest development plans of POSTECH. This change is expected to allow each department flexibility in dealing with characteristics unique to the department and increase overall efficiency.
The core of the World-leading University Initiative is based on support systems developed by evaluating plans of departments on the basis of the evaluation criteria of department and the new guide lines. In addition, developing plans consist of programs that support seed money for studying convergence education.
