The First Commemoration for Late Founding Chairman Tae-Joon Park

POSTECH held commemoration for the first anniversary of the founding chairman Tae-Joon Park’s passing, to remember his achievements and noble mind. A commemorative lecture was held in the POSCO International Center on Dec. 11. This was followed by a memorial ceremony, held on Dec. 13, and a floral tribute and incense burning, held in Nobel Garden, in front of the Tae-Joon Park statue on Dec. 13 to 14.
 In the lecture, Professor Bok Song of Yonsei University explained the life of Tae-Joon Park and the reason why he was considered such a great man. Prof. Song said Tae-Joon Park was a new type classical scholar. He also explained, there is no one like that kind of leader. That is why the word “Tae-Joonism” was created.
 Cheongam Tae-Joon Park was the founder of POSCO and the founding chairman of POSTECH. He passed away in Nov. 13, 2011 by chronic disease.
