POSTECH held a conference on ethical procurement project in order to improve buying competitiveness and ethical purchasing culture through procurement innovation at Administration Building on Dec. 12.
The conference was a joint project of POSCO R&D Institute and RIST Procurement Department. Both regard ethical management as the most important component of a company.
The Dean of the Administrative Department in POSTECH, the head of this project, requested that staff make a new procurement culture to help achieve POSTECH vision 2020.
Management’s commitments and social issues about ethical problems in companies have received a lot of attention. Thus, the conference focused on these.
The basic direction of this project is the harmonization of the way of working, establishment of transparent purchasing process, and improvement of ethical mind.
The team is planning to complete this project by May 2013.
