A public hearing was held on May 11 in the Hogil Kim Memorial Hall Room 306 at 7 PM for explanation of the new regulations regarding medical expense reimbursement and gathering of public opinion. The reim- bursement was abolished last year by the board of directors, but the decision was postponed until the end of spring semester because of the fierce resistance of students. The Undergraduate Association and Graduate Association each formed a special committee that worked together to write new regulations back in March. They completed the first draft that reached agreements with both parties and the school administration. A public hearing was well prepared, but only a few students attended. As a result, it is difficult to gather a wide spectrum of opinions.
Following the hearing, All Student Representative Council held a provisional meeting to determine the best method to draw approval from the entire school body on May 15 in the POSTECH Information Research Laboratories Demonstration Lecture Hall. However, as most repre- sentatives concluded that further effort of gathering opinion is required concerning this issue, they planned to revisit the matter at the second regular meeting at the end of May.
