Professor Chong Soo Lee of the Depart-ment of Mater-ial Science and Engineering, the lead profe-ssor of the Fati-gue and Plastic-ity laboratory, received full membership from the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK.)

NAEK is a non-profit organization which works as the most prestigious community for scientists and engineers.

The qualifications needed to join in this institute are highly challenging. One must have made significant contributions not only in theoretical science through papers or publications, but also in the society, in measures of patents or profits.

Once the viable criteria are done, the peer-vote is taken for the final decision. Currently, there are only 279 with the full membership and twenty-three of them are POSTECH professors.
