POSTECH Mathematical Institute hosted the 5th Ilju Math School from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3 at Gyeongju Hyundai Hotel, sponsored by Ilju foundation and national research foundation of Korea.

Under “Banach Spaces and Related Topics,” this event was an open conference where graduate students, post-doctorates, and professors discussed the Banach Spaces and operator algebras without reserve.

Distinguished lecturers including Professor Emeritus Joseph Diestel (Kent State University) who integrated the theory of vector measures, Prof. Karl Grosse-Erdmann (University of Mons,) and Prof. Andras Zsak (Cambridge University) were invited to deliver lectures on relevant topics and introduced the latest research trends.

Prof. Yun Sung Choi (Math,) who organized this conference said, “I expect this conference to be an open forum in which the young mathematicians who will lead the field of mathematics can freely debate about the given topics, and learn about the current research trend.”
