President Yongmin Kim received the award that the organi-zation of the Korean Society Medical and Biological Engineer-ing (KOSOMBE) grants a scientist or engineer who has contributed to the advancement of Korean science and technology, especially bionics and industries of medical appliances.

The organization of KOSOMBE selected President Kim as the 18th winner, and the awards ceremony will be held on Dec. 11 at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology.

As the world-wide electronic engineering authority on the fields of video image processing and medical diagnostic equipment, the production of his scientific researches was highly assessed in the way that he put his research in practical use.

Last August, as his academic achieve-ments have been widely recognized, he was awarded the William K. Morlock Award that the biggest academic association, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, bestowed.
