Every year, the Pohang University Alliance, which consists of Handong Global University, POSTECH, and Sunlin College University come together to celebrate their youth and passion under the name Passion of Pohang (POP). This year, POP was held on Oct. 8 in Bukbu Beach and the streets of downtown Pohang, under the motto of ‘the Meeting’ and ‘the Youth’. 

Until this year, POP has been an exclusive festival for its constituent university students only. This year, however, they are reaching out, and inviting all Pohang citizens to enjoy their celebration.

The first part of POP was ‘the Meeting,’ a walkathon with disabled neighbors.  Initiated by Handong Global University, this six-hour community service opportunity was extended for the entire Pohang community to participate in the meaningful experience.

The second part of POP was a series of street performances, with a subtitle ‘the Youth.’ Various groups showed off their talents throughout the evening. Although early chills of autumn took hold of the evening, students as well as citizens of various age groups came out to watch and enjoy the students expressing their vitality.
