POSTECH will now house three more centers of the Science/Engineering Research Center (S/ERC).

S/ERC is the major project of the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) which aims for the innovation of the research and development environment by organizing it into specific fields and supporting them.

According to NRF, on Sep. 7 three more centers were selected in POSTECH: Prof. Kim Kang-tae of the Center for Geometric and its applications, Prof. Chung Wan-kyun of the Research Center of Advanced Robotic Surgery based on Deep Tissue and Haptic Feedback Technology for SRC, and Prof. Lee Hu-Jong of the Center for Topological Matter for ERC.

These centers will be supported financially from 2011 to 2018 with 1.3 billion KRW for SRC and 1.5billion for RFC.
