On Jan. 25, W-Zone was established within the boundaries of the campus. W-Zone is part of the Mobile Campus Establishment Plan associated with SK Telecommunication (SKT).
W-Zone is the service which binds SKT base stations within certain specified areas to allow free calls for 3G mobile users. With W-Zone service, within the zone, phone calls to 3G mobiles and calls between 3G mobiles will all be free as long as the mobile is subscribed to SKT.
Specifically, W-Zone includes the entire campus area including PAL and the research buildings, RIST, POSCO Educational Foundation areas, and parts of the residential areas in Hyoja and Jigok.
To join the W-Zone service, users should pay a 1,000 KRW fee. Users can call or visit the SKT office on campus to join or use POVIS SKT T-gate; however, the SKT office recommends visiting or calling for your convenience. The phone number of the SKT office on campus is 054-279-3775.
Although free calls are applied to only Galaxy S users now, this unique service will be expanded to other 3G phones with SKT in the future.
