Professor Taihyun Chang of POSTECH Department of Chemistry was elected as a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). To be elected as a fellow, one must be a member of APS with outstanding academic achievements. It is only awarded to the erudite scholars accounting for 0.5 % of the total number of APS members.
Prof. Chang specializes in various detection techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. Using these techniques he succeeded in separating and analyzing polymers very precisely, which had not been possible before. He created a sensation for developing a new technique to analyze block midair polymers by individual blocks. With this precise method, he has churned out scientific results on rheological characteristics of nonlinear polymers.
