1 out of 5 students were accepted for their potential
‘Late Bloomer’ was the key word for the 2011 admission officer system.
POSTECH announced that potential as a crierion determined acceptance for 54 out of 298 students, making up 18.1% of the total number. Also, 27 of these students were participants in POSTECH’s Potential Development Program.
This accounts for almost one out of five students accepted to POSTECH, an increase of 8% from last year’s admission. This can be interpreted as a stabilization of the newly adopted admission officer system, which was first implemented in the 2010 admission.
The admission officers focused on the applicants’ ‘potential to succeed’ and ‘self-motivated learning attitude’ in this year’s admission.
