It has been seven years since I started school here and it has been seven years since the POSTECH Digital Library was built in 2003. As time passes, there have been some changes in the library but there are two things which have never been changed.

Every year and every semester, Postechians take exams. Around this time every year, many of the students go to the library to study for their exams, but not many of them can find seats for themselves. The POSTECH Digital Library is able to seat far less than the number of students in the school. Of course, not all of the students go to the library. However, what I would like to point out here is that there is one and only one library in this school. It is not too late. POSTECH has to prepare more space for students to study.

At this point, students might blame only their school and not themselves. I could see on my computer screen that almost all of the group study rooms in the library are reserved. However, quite often, these are rooms in which no one shows up. This causes inefficiency inasmuch as there are some people who really need the rooms and they have no idea that they are available even though the people on the list do not come to the room. As a result, they have to postpone their meetings. Students who behave like this should feel guilty about it. The Student Union conducts a campaign promoting the Postechian Honor System every year. Now it is time for us to think about it from a different perspective.

All in all, POSTECH and Postechians must make their united efforts to make a better studying environment. Before we blame each other, I myself should be the first who is willing to make the change.
