On Nov. 18, the POSTECH Orchestra performed a lunchtime concert, titled ‘The Chamber Music Concert’, on the first floor hall of the POSCO International Center. Twenty-one members played four chamber compositions within an hour. The audience, including POSTECH President Sunggi Baik and Professor Kim Jung Ki, the Chairman of the  POSTECH Orchestra as well as professor of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, watched their performance.

The first in the repertoire was R. Schumann’s Op. 47, piano quartet in EЬ major (1842). Proceeding with J. Haydn’s Op. 64, No. 5, string quartet in D major (1790), the atmosphere surrounding the orchestra reached its height among the four pieces. Its next choice was W.A. Mozart’s K.370, oboe quartet in F major (1790). Last played was R. Schumann’s Op. 44, piano quartet in EЬ major (1842).

The POSTECH Orchestra is composed of students, faculty members, and officials of the university, and is centered around the orchestra club, Hanulim. Founded in February, 2006, the POSTECH Orchestra has played subscription concerts in Spring as well as invitation performances during graduation ceremonies. This year, it has offered close, familiar music programs like the POSTECH Orchestra Lunchtime Concert to get nearer to fellow members of POSTECH.
