Professor Kwang S. Kim of the Department of Chemistry  was selected as a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science(IAQMS), the first Korean  selected. IAQMS was founded in 1967 in France and has been giving memberships to those who have shown astonishing achievements in the field of molecular science. Being selected as a member of IAQMS has been considered one of the  greatest honor among  quantum and theoretical chemists.

Professor Kim is a renowned scholar in the field of molecular electric engineering. He has presented 290 superior papers in world class journals such as Nature and Science and has been quoted more than 10,000 times.

Professor Lee Chong Soo of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering has been selected as a member of the European Academy of Science as the first of all Koreans.

European Academy of Science selects its members only by their excellency in research results. Scientists from 63 countries, including France, Germany, and USA, are acting as members but there has been no Korean scientist until now.

Professor Lee has been researching for 30 years on the titanium alloy that is widely used from the air and space industry to daily household appliances.
