With the aim of promoting healthy and abundant lifestyles for community members and also strengthening ties with local residents, the sixth presidential marathon will take place on May 9th beginning at the POSTECH Sports Field.
This race, in which not only POSTECH members but also residents in Pohang can participate, starts at 08:30 at the Sports Field and passes by the POSTECH Information Research Laboratories (PIRL) and Graduate School for Information Technology (GSIT), the Main Gate, the East Gate, the Professor Apartments, the LG and Samsung Villas and the Pohang Techno Park. From there, participants have to return to the starting point, adding up to a run of 10 km in total.
T-shirts, food, and drinks will be provided to all participants and trophies and prizes will be awarded up to the first, second, and third place winners in five different categories (male and female POSTECH  students, general, the elderly, and females).
A total of 449 entrants have registered for this race, 132 male students, 21 female students, 188 general participants, and 66 and 42 in the elderly and female categories respectively.
