Due to the seemingly endless pandemic, it has been over a year since we have been able to interact with even the closest friends. Nevertheless, Postechians’ time flied by, and freshmen are now entering their second semester. Like many of my friends, I enjoyed my first semester at POSTECH.
Since I entered POSTECH and first arrived on campus, I felt a strong sense of pride in our school. For this reason, I decided to participate in some activities that could positively affect POSTECH, and that is The Postech Times. I think that newspapers are able to exert a powerful influence on readers, and I will do my best to ensure that my articles influence the school in a positive way.
I believe that the most important role of the newspaper is to give readers something to think about and to assist in forming their judgments about social phenomena. In other words, newspapers have a profound influence on the formation of public opinion. Therefore, for newspapers to do their job, I think the most important thing is for the reporter to lay the groundwork for readers’ thoughts and give them food for thought. Accordingly, I will make every effort to write factual, unbiased articles, and I hope that they will be of some use to our readers.
Also, as aforementioned, I will write articles carefully, paying attention to the weight of my words, as newspapers exert a great influence. Since The Postech Times is a newspaper published under the name of our school, I will do my best to be informative to our readers and supportive to our school.
Like academics and clubs, writing articles requires time and effort. Accordingly, I promise to deliver my latest articles with great enthusiasm as a reporter of The Postech Times. I feel fortunate to be able to greet you in writing. I am looking forward to reaching Postechians through my next article.
