The Student Leadership Election Committee (SLEC) announced the inauguration of the Senior Leadership of the Female Student Union (FSU) and the Dormitory Union (DU) on Nov. 11. The election was held online using SurveyMonkey from Nov. 9 to 10. However, the vote for the Senior Leadership of the Student Union (SU) has been postponed to December since no candidates applied for the position.

The Female Student Union
The new Senior Leadership of the FSU is “Bisang” (to ascend), consisting of Kim Jong-eun (CE 19) and Lee Ji-seon (MSE 19). They have promised to deliver the following: 1) be an organization that reacts and responds first to the difficulties of women on campus, 2) provide various opportunities to foster gender equality among school members, and 3) be an open organization that communicates fully. Bisang also agreed to promote numerous services for female students, including the regular production of leaflets and journals including Yeo-bo-se-yo (Hello?), selling sanitary pads in the FSU office, encouraging women’s fitness and sports, monitoring and reporting illegal cameras, holding various events and campaigns, and running an open office for active communication.
Bisang was a single candidate and received 122 votes of approval out of a total of 128. As the number of votes exceeded one-third of the total number of electors (326), the election result is valid according to Article 64-3 of the Rules for Self-Government of the FSU.

The Dormitory Union
The new Senior Leadership of the DU is “Chamdom” (red sea bream), consisting of Lee Ye-chan (EEE 19) and Son Do-won (EEE 19). They pledge to achieve the following: 1) improve the reception of student opinions regarding dormitory management, 2) reinitiate the smoking booth installation project, 3) find solutions to pest and animal problems around the dormitory, and 4) install cloud printers in all dormitory buildings.
Chamdom was also uncontested and received 479 votes of approval out of a total of 524. As the number of votes exceeded one-third of the total number of electors (1190), the election result is valid according to Article 53-2 of the Rules for Self-Government of the DU.
