Student Leadership Election Committee (SLEC) announced the candidates for Senior Leadership of Student Union of POSTECH (SU) and Dormitory Union (DU) on Oct. 27. It was declared that two candidates will run for the senior leadership of the SU and one candidate will run for the president of DU. Since there was no candidate for the Female Student Union (FSU).
The first candidate campaign ‘POSTECH Happiness Lab’, consisted of Noh Jin-u (CE 14) and Lee Hyo-in (ME 17) running for Senior Leadership of the SU. Their main values are creating an atmosphere of happiness on campus. The ‘POSTECH Happiness Lab’ campaign’s four main pledges were 1) a diet on POSTECH that can improve the quality of daily life 2) the campus life we create 3) project on campus maintenance 4) making and settling Postechian’s daily honor codes 5) the succession of the former SU
The second candidate campaign ‘Tide’, consisted of Park Hee-won (MSE 17) and Kim Tae-hyun (LIFE 18) running for Senior Leadership of the SU. Their main values are to create a constant tide of communication with Postechians. The ‘Tide’ campaign’s four main pledges were 1) student culture 2) student’s daily welfare 3) communication 4) sustainability 
A single candidate is running in the DU election. The first candidate campaign ‘E-room’, consisted of Chung Chong-young (ME 17) and Lee Ye-chan (Muenjae 19) running for Senior Leadership of the DU. Their main values are actively collecting the opinions of the residents and working hard with the representative’s name. The ‘E-room’ campaign’s four main pledges are 1) mitigation on the cost of dormitory use 2) expansion of residence single room 3) strengthening inspection of check-in/out 4) complementing the electronic access system 5) installation and operation of smoking booths.
SLEC held a joint speech session for candidate campaigns on Nov. 4. During the session, candidates addressed their election pledges and have a Q&A session after presentations. Students who attended this session asked questions about the candidates’ election commitments.
The election campaign was held from Oct. 28 to Nov. 5, and the voting will be conducted for two days, Nov. 6 to Nov. 7. Students can vote in four offline polling booths; Residential College first floor, student hall first floor, and restaurant, and the convenience store in Jigok center to promote student participation more actively.
