Excessively Attractive Technology Start-Up Competition Finished

On May 17, POSTECH’s Research and Business Development Foundation held Excessively Attractive Technology Start-up Competition. Ten teams were selected for the  Camp held on May 3 to 4 were: Mutton, Aikon, Memorizer, Hofbräu, Blessyou, Lampas, JUMUNI, Qrio, Scribblers, and Durian. All participating teams were given benefits such as mentoring from an expert, connections with venture capitalists, and priority in participating in start-up education programs.
At the competition, each team was given five minutes to explain its business idea and another five minutes for a Q&A session with a panel of judges. Audiences made a mock investment in each team by selecting one of the three, five, seven and one hundred thousand KRW during the competition. 
A total of five teams were awarded prizes following the judges’ decision. The third prize was given to the team ‘Hofbräu’ and ‘Memorizer.’  each for the idea ‘Supra-Sunblock using a biopolymer’ and ‘Anypen that allows you to make a memo anywhere, anytime.’ The team ‘Blessyou’ and ‘Scribbler’ were awarded the second prize each for an ‘infant respiratory disease monitoring and analysis service’ and ‘real-time automatic scribble animation.’ The winner of the competition was the team ‘Aikon.’ They came up with the business idea of ‘detecting and responding to injuries from falls through deep learning of changes in Wi-Fi signal.’ They received 5 million KRW and the qualification to participate in an overseas start-up competition.
