POSTECH Win Open Networking Korea Hackathon Competition

Jeong Se-yeon, Lee Do-young, Choi June-muk, and Tu Van Nguyen, the members of Distributed processing & Network Management Laboratory (DPNM) led by Professor Hong Won-ki won the Open Networking Korea (ONK) 2017 fall Hackathon competition held at a Startup Campus in Pangyo. The topic was Network Analytics, opened by Software Defined Networking & Network Functions Virtualization forum sponsored by SK Telecom. The term ‘Hackathon’ is a compound word of which ‘Hacker’ and ‘Marathon’ are combined. It denotes a project where programmers plan ideas intensively and keep working continuously, similar to a marathon. The POSTECH DPNM members have attracted attention because they have won three hackathon competitions in 2017 including this ONK 2017 fall event. They decided to donate the prize money to the department development fund.
